One of our friends told my husband the other day that when they used to own a pool they never used the spa because the overflow fountain would heat the whole pool and they didn't want to heat the whole pool.  Wow, we felt really bad for them, they owned that house for many years and never knew how to situate the valves so that the fountain was off and the water circulated only in the spa rather than flowing over into the pool.  Knowing what your equipment does and how it works can save you much heart ache.  Just think of all the time our our friends could have spent enjoying their spa had they only known. (Of course we didn't know them at the time or they would have been hooked up!)
